Raising Attainment in KS1 Mathematics

A two half day course (including a gap task) to support implementation of the 2014 Maths National Curriculum

24th September 2015 & 5th November 2015

Target audience: KS1 Teachers, Maths Subject Leaders, NQTs, RQTs and TAs

(It is recommended a teacher accompanies TA delegates to ensure maximum impact on pupil attainment)

This course will address:

• Practical strategies to teach the three aims of the 2014 Maths National Curriculum i.e. fluency, reasoning and problem solving
• Developing mental calculation strategies
• Exploring aspects new to KS1
• Ensuring challenge for all pupils to have maximum impact on pupil attainment
