Wave 3 Fischer Family Trust Intervention Programme

The course aims to:

• Develop a deeper understanding of the needs of children who find it hard to learn to read and write
• Enhance the skills and knowledge of adults working in the classroom
• Give adults an effective structure to use when working with ‘hard-to-teach’ children

24th September – Day 1 will address ASSESSMENT with a focus on:

• Implementation of a range of assessment procedures
• Supporting practitioners in effective observation with an emphasis on analysing strengths, weaknesses, confusions and gaps in learning

1st October – Day 2 will address READING with a focus on:

• Revision of the reading process
• Structure of the reading day lesson
• Identifying learning objectives to accelerate progress

9th October – Day 3 will address WRITING with a focus on:

• Revision of Day 1 and 2
• Structure of the writing day lesson
• Identifying learning objectives to accelerate progress
