KS1: Progression in Y1 English through Autumn Term [Autumn 1 Text Plans]

Registration at 8.45am

The course will :

• Revisit key principles from the Writing Framework to support the development of high-quality practice.
• Identify high value learning objectives in Y1 Autumn term within oral language, reading and writing
• Explore effective teaching approaches for the Autumn term
• Share two text plans for Autumn 1: (i) ‘Bumblebear‘ – Nadia Shireen  (ii) ‘Why do we need bees’ Usborne First Questions and Answers – Katie Daynes
• Share strategies to narrow the gap in attainment during the autumn term
• Facilitate networking opportunities for delegates to share good practice

All delegates will receive a comprehensive electronic training pack, including: Long Term Plan for English [Term by Term]; Detailed weekly text plans and resources; Reading & Writing Strategies Booklet; Multi-sensory Approach to Handwriting; Writing Checklists

* Autumn 2 text plans will be shared through a twilight meeting towards the end of autumn 1. The texts will be (i) ‘Nibbles’ – Emma Yarlett  (ii) ‘The Snow Thief’ – Alice Hemming
